Employees were ordered to clear the buildings after a threat was received by district officials via email , according to authorities.
Responding officers were notified of the threat around 10.30 am, and shortly after district officials ordered a lockdown on the area.
￼Assistant Superintendent Lita Gattis sent a memo to all Benton School District faculty and staff after the threat was sent.
“We have cleared all employees from all buildings and ask that you not come in to school today.”
An investigation is ongoing between the Benton School District and Benton Police Department.
